@Zanah__ as an asexual person who grew up deeply entrenched in purity culture, I actively advocate for sex positivity as a mindset! sex itself is a positive thing, just because I don't want to have it doesn't mean that's not true true!

Also, some aromantic and asexual people experience difficulty surrounding emotions or expression in relationships of any kind, and it's important to note that our worth shouldn't be centered around how we interact with intimacy and the ideas associated with it

While it's possible we might express affection differently from what is socially considered normative by employing broader meanings to certain phrases and actions or choosing to not engage in what is generally expected of us, our relationships have weight to them

To disregard the value of aromantic and asexual intimacy, and the nuances that come with it, is to be ignorant to varied social dynamics and perpetuate a hierarchical view of relationships established by harmful frameworks that aren't inclusive to everybody's experiences

International Asexuality Day is coming! 💜 IAD is a Worldwide campaign promoting visibility for the asexual community, particularly in non-Western and/or non-English speaking countries. April 6th will be a day for advocacy, celebration, education, solidarity... and a lot of fun!

I reeeeaaallyyy need to see more sex positive takes that are inclusive of the asexual community. Not experiencing sexual attraction/having no desire for sexual relationships is sexual liberation….just AS MUCH as having sexual desire and engaging in sexual relationships is. choice is the point. and some of these pro sex tweets are steeped in compulsory sexuality. we can celebrate fun, consensual pleasurable sex while also acknowledging that some people do not want to engage in sex at all. Ever. And it’s not because they’re “scarred” or “scared” or “don’t know what good sex is”. they are simply disinterested. Hell, maybe even repulsed. and that is okay.

As an Ace women myself, yesss!! Also, it's important to recognize that it is a spectrum for Asexuality! It means little to no sexual attraction. There will be Ace people who may be more sex positive/sex neutral and some Ace people are sex repulsed! And that's ok!
