I’ve had a busy few weeks (and while I’m v tired) I’ve been really enjoying the variety of my work. Therapy, lots of assessments, & getting stuck into my research project. Reminding me of why I wanted to become a psychologist and this drawing I did a little while ago 🧢 #psyd

Here is my most recent illustration of Baumrind’s Parenting Styles. ✨ Authoritative, Authoritarian, Permissive, and Uninvolved. Authoritative parenting has demonstrated the most positive consequences in terms of child social-emotional development #parenting

Made an update to an old illustration demonstrating all the “hats” that psychologists wear. I added a few more hats from some of the findings of my dissertation which investigated the potential contributions of clinical psychologists to community mental health #clinicalpsychology

I've asked this once before but need to be sure. Is anyone aware of any other NHS trauma services for asylum seeking or refugee children in the UK? Please retweet 🙏

If we can look beyond the all too often devastating consequences of addiction to the underlying need, then we have a road map for prevention, problem solving and recovery...

Submitting my dissertation (all 56,000 words of it 🫠) to my second reader feels like a huge accomplishment, even though it’s not quite the end yet! Almost there! ✨#psyd

I have recently requested to cut my hours down at work (5 days of trauma work is pretty intense). My justification was more time to illustrate. 🎨 If you ever use my drawings, please consider supporting me to continue by signing up to Patreon... patreon.com/creativeclinic…

On the search for a Georgian interpreter 🇬🇪 preferably in Bristol, but also anywhere in the UK. The service we use cannot find one (even someone who can join an assessment remotely). Please retweet 🙏🔄

The end to homelessness is access to adequate and dignifying housing for all. Those that support the clearing of encampments, and urge the city to “do something”, are the same folks that protest developments of affordable housing in their neighbourhoods. Make it make sense. #DTES

Wade’s been homeless for 30 yrs. Has lived in SROs and said never again - the bedbugs and cockroaches “eat you alive.” As he packed up this morn, I asked where he was gonna go. He said prob back alley “They’re wasting money that could be put into getting us a good place to live”

The further I go into Clinical Psychology training, the clearer it is that the best intervention for poor mental health is not therapy, but better housing security and policy.

New two part drawing added to my Instagram ✨ inspired by Dr. Becky Kennedy’s book “Good Inside” - an alternative take to the “iceberg” of behaviour. The more we get curious about what may be underneath the behaviour, the more we can empathise, connect, and build relationships.

No new drawings lately as I share the same sentiment I tweeted last year. Days are (pleasantly) filled seeing clients for therapy and assessments, while my weekends are spent chipping away at my thesis. All systems go, but I can see the graduation light shining in the distance ✨

does anyone have any resources/ information about assessing OCD in autistic children and young people? I'm thinking about how we make sure we capture and pick up on what is OCD rather ASD to ensure CYP are receiving appropriate support?
