@HillmanEvents @tojulius Planners don't do much to protect attendee data. But once they collect it, they're understandably tight-fisted. If they understood what @roel1000x said about the benefits of de-identified data sharing, they'd open up.

@tojulius Genuinely surprised data privacy is a leading factor. My experience is that planners don’t do enough to protect data.

I spoke to some key AI people in events a few months ago. Consensus seemed that the siloed nature of the industry and data privacy conversations prevent a full AI implementation in our industry. Business events need AI bad. Sessions and people recommendations above all.

@tojulius 2 things: 1. Users are reluctant to to jump fully into AI due to privacy concerns. Every industry has this reluctance though and it will dissipate over time as long as we keep building. 2. Mobile ad tech already uses a ton of de-identified AI. Events should follow their lead.
