This raises an interesting question: how are we to characterize the qualitative specificity of the lapse from “nobility” to “celebrity”? I’ll hazard an answer: what occurs is a “democratic” corruption of one’s sense of teleological mission whereby the goal ceases to be the embodiment of a transcendent or supernatural principle and becomes one of satisfying the immanent aesthetic drives of a given “audience.” The irreducible value of nobility is tied up with the irreducible value of the supernatural itself.
But I think we can observe a convergence back towards this supernatural form of nobility within modern celebrity culture itself. @Grimezsz is a good example. Her form of openness to the supernatural comes through a celebration of the grotesque, but I would argue that this is precisely the cruciform essence of the beautiful itself. Mystique and solemnity irreducible to natural consciousness are precisely the referents that her “Gothic” music indicates. This is precisely the point where I believe traditional intellectual reflection has to grapple with the aesthetic relevance of alternative culture—which I would argue is precisely a form of counter-modernity.
It is also important to remember that Grimes, along with similar alternative-gothic artists like Purity Ring, Crystal Castles (demonic abuse scandal aside, their musical genius stands on its own merits, particularly that of Alice Glass—both visionary and “survivor”), and Flower Face are products of Canada’s “Red Tory” government project of investment in the arts. There was a 2010s “Canadian invasion” of alternative music precisely because of this program.

In order to survive, monarchic families have to avoid being seen as celebrities or mixing much with celebrities. They need to sustain mystique, solemnity and seriousness of purpose (like the king) and therefore in this sense de-modernise, not modernise.

For all practical intents, when you talk about Brazilian agriculture, you’re talking about China. China is using Brazil to break the American cotton, beef, soy, and grain industries. We cannot export our way out of this problem, because they’ll just burn down more rain forest and subsidize more acreage at breakevens that will destroy us. And at that point, they will decide our fate. Perhaps our leaders should refresh themselves on the Monroe Doctrine. The fate of rural America and American food sovereignty, nay American sovereignty in general, hinges on this question. A nation that cannot feed itself is independent and sovereign in name only.

I am using this post to harvest data about farming. Many farmers in the replies telling me in great detail how hard their jobs are.
In effect I am farming the farmers for an information crop.

America really hasn't come to grips with how fast small holder agricultural technology has progressed.
Tractors now versus 40 years ago are insanely better. There are implements and tools that our grandfathers could only dream of. But the technological increase happened at the same time as de-agriculturalization. So many think farming is drudgery but it's not actually that bad.
This is proven by 80-year-olds still farming. If you listen closely to Farmer's conversations they will talk about how low effort it actually is.

I have an uncle who cash crops around 300 acres and he works a month a year doing that. Most farmers who don't have animals have 2nd jobs because farming is a month of a year with new equipment.

The New Journalists made journalism more literary. Injected personality, creativity; questioned the wisdom of anonymous ”objectivity”.
Did they have a lasting impact? I’m not sure. Journalism has largely gone back to being pretty anonymous. The superstar journalist, like Tom Wolfe or Joan Didion, is rather a figure of the 60s and 70s, not a contemporary figure.
