Armed men attacked a local company’s mining site in Darigwan, Chagai (Balochistan), where drilling operations are currently underway.
In a statement on LinkedIn, National Resources (Private) Limited (NRL) said "Security forces, including the Frontier Corps, responded promptly and secured the area. A clearance and sweep operation is currently underway to ensure the safety of personnel and assets."
Local sources report that some machinery was set on fire during the attack, while the local administration has confirmed the incident. Further details are awaited.
NRL says it is coordinating with law enforcement authorities and will share updates as more information emerges.
The company also reiterated its commitment to local development, noting that over 90% of its workforce at the Darigwan site is from Balochistan.
Darigwan lies about 100 km northwest of Dalbandin in a remote, mountainous area.
