Meanwhile, Harvey Milk groomed a 16-year-old homeless boy at age 34—are we going to rename SW Stark too? And let’s not forget the real cost here. Changing street names isn’t just swapping signs. When 39th Street was renamed, businesses went ballistic, and the city had to fork out money to update letterhead, cards, and signage. Why not just restore 39th Street and stop wasting time and money on streets named after people who’ve never even set foot in Portland? More virtue signaling. More waste.
