@leptokinesis It’s like debugging your brain in a new syntax 😭

@usman_akinyemi @Chime_Fave Rust. Currently learning and working towards it.

@Chime_Fave Rust programming language and I am working towared it.

@AndyObtiva Maybe we’ll have AI-friendly representations under the hood, with human-readable code on top.
English

Programming language code like that of Ruby is made for humans to read, so if we want to build Software systems with AI, why use code as an intermediate at all? Programming language code is probably limiting to AI given it is tailored towards human readability. It seems like the sensible thing to do is to come up with a programming language that is optimized for AI (tailored towards maximum computer readability, not human readability), which would be very precise, remove the need to generate human code, and minimize AI credit use as much as possible.
I am just sharing a brainstorm about AI here without necessarily being sold on what I am sharing as my thought process could be wrong, but it doesn't hurt to brainstorm and contemplate AI ideas.

@_kachi7 True. It’s not about difficulty, it’s about staying consistent till the end.

@JayKashyap32254 Programming is mostly reading code, not writing it.
English

People think programming is about writing code.
In reality it's mostly:
• reading documentation
• debugging weird errors
• fixing things that worked yesterday

@Coffeeroasts Code is easy. Understanding the problem is the hard part.

@lazycs2 Every language has its trade-offs. Go focuses on simplicity, while Java offers a richer ecosystem.
English

Yes they use Go. But big tech doesn’t marry one language; they date several: Go, Java, Python, C++, Rust…..

Google uses Go. Meta uses Go. Microsoft uses Go. Amazon uses Go. Uber uses Go. Dropbox uses Go. Cloudflare uses Go. Twitch uses Go. Docker uses Go. Kubernetes uses Go. PayPal uses Go. Shopify uses Go. What’s stopping you from learning Go?
English

@S_N_SH_E_ Java. Mostly for backend and learning the ecosystem.
English

@dearbillE Good approach. Learning different paradigms really expands how you think about programming.

or just
do C, Javascript, java or any OOP, A lisp and strict typing language like Ocaml or Rust
get experience all styles once

This is 2026. AI knows all the languages. No need for you to learn any one of them "just because". If the use case requires it, then maybe learning it beyond the basics might be warranted. Otherwise it's a major waste of time.

@AayushSainii The tech world rewards people who keep learning and adapting.

@NickPrijic Great analogy. As tools evolve, the focus shifts from the instrument to the creativity and orchestration behind it.
English

The rise of natural language and agentic programming is synonymous with the music industry.
Electronic music and music production only got faster, better, and more intricate.
It became less about the instrument themselves and more about the orchestration. Creativity went up and more non instrument playing artists broke out.
And despite the critics, the skills and talents also improved for those who played specific instruments. They had to go beyond standard scales and playing styles to drive listeners.
High tides rises all ships.
