@ScottBerrevoets I have the same problem, and then I ask it to just try and it ask permissions and it works so it apologizes 🙄

Why does Claude keep asking for permission for basic commands sometimes? What am I missing?

Trying to reflect on why I was hugely impressed by Claude Codementia early on: it’s my bias towards TUI and its impressive ability to use CLI tools. The good impression faded quickly when I needed to solve real problems.

Had to update my local development workflow a bit since AI agents can do a lot more in parallel now. Decided on a lightweight git worktree wrapper, with simple tmux window management. Wrote about it some more here: scottberrevoets.com/2026/02/17/sca…

“Add an image for each row and watch it die” Every row loads an image from the network. In memory cache, no file cache. URL is random every time (uuid) so cache should always be a miss.

@ScottBerrevoets Yeah, #3 has saved me 2 times already where I asked Claude to do something quick and simple while I work on this other thing over here just to spend the rest of the afternoon trying to get Claude to finish the “simple” refactor

@dev_jac Yeah if I foresee it happening I’ll plan for it but this was specifically for the cases where it catches me by surprise. I guess it’s not different than a developer choosing to refactor but finding rabbit holes 😅

Claude/Codex is in the middle of a medium size refactor in a monolithic app when the “10% context remaining” comes up. What do you do? Keep going? Compact context soon? Start over with a narrower scope? Wrap it up and start over with a new prompt that summarizes progress so far?
