The Soviet N1 was a massive, five-stage super-heavy launch vehicle developed to take cosmonauts to the Moon, acting as the USSR's rival to the US Saturn V. Designed by OKB-1, it stood 105 meters tall and featured 30 engines on its first stage (Block A). All four test launches (1969–1972) failed, leading to the program's cancellation.

📷 NASA/ESA – S. Extremely precise performance and injection accuracy. Contributing to “SLS’s 99.92 percent accuracy” (John Honeycutt, PM of SLS) – The ICPS, built in collaboration with @BoeingSpace, performed two burns to place Orion into a high Earth orbit, lofting the astronauts towards their lunar trajectory. Bullseye!

The Orion spacecraft, the Moon, and the Earth — all in one frame. This image was captured during the sixth day of the Artemis II mission as our astronauts successfully circled the Moon.

Celebrating 65 years of humans in space! Today on the International Day of Human Space Flight, we honor the first flight into space made by Yuri Gagarin in 1961, as well as the first Space Shuttle launch in 1981. The best is yet to come.

Our crew on the @Space_Station caught a glimpse of the @NASAArtemis II crew as they re-entered the atmosphere from their journey to the Moon! We first saw a bright light and a trail as the service module burned up. We didn’t see the Orion capsule itself as it re-entered, but we saw the wispy trail it left behind in the upper atmosphere. Overjoyed that our friends are safely back on Earth after their awe-inspiring mission!

Ok, here's something I want to vent about: @Microsoft how many more fucking times am I going to see the screen‽ I've had this computer for years, and you keep wanting me to "set it up" again after updates I don't want M365 I don't want Office I don't want OneDrive I don't want to have to have a Microsoft account just to log into my computer Let my computer just be *MY* damn computer. Because at this rate, as soon as SteamOS works with Intel and Nvidia, I'm ditching windows on all my machines. This is ridiculous. My computer was already set up the first time I set it up when it was still on Windows 10 a few years ago.
