As an angry old bastard, there are many things that PISS ME OFF!! For example, how “good, righteous leaders,” of so called “superpowers,” can stand by, while a pissant little dictator & his bloody army & airforce use 21st Century weapons & the barbarity rarely seen in the past 80 years to butcher the children of a neighbouring state & then label it as “a defensive strategy.” Where the fuck is the humanity?!
Then there’s the fact we live in a country where a minuscule percentage of the population have so much wealth & power, that they can influence government policy, to favour them & their money making interests, money that they cannot possibly spend in their lifetime. They point their grubby fingers at the poor & vulnerable, calling them “leaners” & and a drain on the budget, but when the facts are investigated, it is these individuals & the multinationals that are scamming the taxpayers & draining the budget. At the same time, parents & their children live in tents & their cars for lack of fairness, empathy & compassion in our country.
Or that women & children continue to live with the anguish, anxiety & outright fear of being either mentally, physically or sexually abused, or even killed by men who once told them they loved them & would do all to protect them. While at the same time our main focus is to purchase weapons of mass destruction, for the benefit of War, rather than save the lives of the vulnerable in their own home.
Or that we live in a country where journalism, doesn’t mean reporting facts from daily life & political events, but to mouth the words of whatever the ideology & political leaning of the person who owns the newspaper &/or television outlet the so called “journalist” is employed by. The fact that a “healthy democracy,” is considered to rely on an independent & objective 4th estate is now completely irrelevant.
Or that we live in a country where a political party doesn’t have to produce a single social or economic policy to be considered a viable government, but simply be the preferred political party of the above mentioned newspapers & television media outlet owners & their sycophantic minions. In 2025, we may, for the first time, since 2013, see a political party win government by offering absolutely NOTHING! until they are voted in & we all remember how it panned out the last time.
So, there you have it guys, now possibly, I have adequately explained to you all as to why I am an angry old bastard & a grumpy old fool.
