In case you’re wondering what is the deadline for apps to adopt Liquid Glass (at least on the native elements) that is ~April 2027.
Apps who avoid the new UI are currently abusing a PLIST key called “UIDesignRequiresCompatibility” which allows them to build the apps using the iOS 26 SDK but keep the legacy UI (this is supposedly to be used temporarily to give time to implement Liquid Glass, not avoid it)
That way they’ll bypass the April 28 deadline for building with Xcode 26 and the iOS 26 SDK.
Apple has however confirmed they’ll remove this flag with Xcode 27 and iOS 27 which will have their own deadline in April next year
