@MercuryIsBack @IzerLIVES sure, i agree. i just don't think that this specific comparison with asexuality or lesbianism (= the absence of the normative desire) works particularly well for non-exclusive pedophiles (= the presence of both normative and non-normative desires).

speaking from the exclusive pedophile perspective, an important point to consider is that, as long as you agree that the *lack* of normative sexual desires grants asexual people their place under the queer umbrella, the same framework should be applicable to exclusive pedophiles.

@IzerLIVES i agree that non-exclusive pedophiles are queer as well, because i believe pedophilic desires to be queer by definition. i'm just not sure to what extent one can apply to non-exclusives this "queerness as the lack of normative desires" framework specifically.

in this context, we are examining a form of social dynamics where individual is identified by society as queer, not due to demonstrating attraction towards a "wrong" group of people, but rather because they do not display attraction towards the presumed "right" group.

even though i personally consider pedophilic attraction pattern to be queer, it's irrelevant here. this socially perceived queerness has very little to do with the fact that my desires for children don't fit into the socially normative idea of sexuality.
