When I started in media, I earned $31k working for a small daily in S. Oregon. A move to Portland and The Oregonian got me a $4k bump and 5 1/2 years — and one promotion — later, it was $58k. Moving to Minneapolis got me up to $78k.

@ralphbod @bethnakamura We never allow use of our photos by political campaigns. If this has happened, it's a copyright violation and was done without our knowledge of permission. Also, our only staffer who has photographed Gonzalez, to my knowledge, is me. What's your basis for this accusation?

@ralphbod @bethnakamura This has happened before, I remember one particularly egregious instance from a campaign in the suburbs a few years back. Campaigns often demonstrate a surprising lack of knowledge about copyright, etc. Hard to prevent, as we never find out until after the fliers are circulated

@ralphbod @bethnakamura They probably think they're allowed to use photos as long as they credit them, which is a common misconception but of course very much not true. We absolutely did not give permission for this, and never would for any political campaign

@pantagrapher @ellembee yeah, gotta be something like that. Sounds tied to road speed, not engine speed, so it's something related to the wheels (tires, brakes, etc). And the service just before hibernation feels like it'd be too much of a coincidence to not be related
