Such a fun day celebrating #poeminyourpocketday with RRE students @FranklinISD! It was so exciting seeing our students reading and sharing the joy of poetry with one another!

One thing we heard consistently from our Assistant Principal Leadership Academy participants: Leaders need space to think—outside of their own district. Space to step back. To hear different perspectives. To reflect on their leadership. That space matters. 🤍 #TXAPL

My heart is filled with joy to not only be an Assistant Principal to these incredible RRE first graders @FranklinISD but to be their guest poet for the day! I shared some of the ones from my blog site, and I can’t wait to read some of theirs as they become poets as well 💚

Our outstanding teachers at Roland Reynolds Elementary @FranklinISD worked so hard together today to make restorative conflict resolution mats for our students to utilize in the classrooms.

Let’s be intentional with our words. Be the one who builds others up. Tell people you love them. Tell people you’re proud of them. Never waste an unspoken blessing.

A common excuse I get when working with leaders on implementing a leadership system: "I just don't have the time." Yes, because you're busy putting out fires, repeating yourself and dealing with reality of NOT having a system. Leading intentionally gives you your time back.

People are drawn more to those who lead from a place of love than to those who lead out of fear. Build up, don't tear down Call people up, not out Fight for your team, not against them Empower, don't overpower To love your team is to fight for their highest good.
