I had the rare privilege of seeing the endangered Trillium persistens yesterday. This extreme narrow endemic can only be found in a 4 square mile radius around Tallulah Gorge in Georgia and South Carolina! 🧵

Happy Flower Friday! 🌼 As the morning light dapples the forest floor, these wild Morning Glories, also called Wild Potato Vine (Ipomoea pandurata) dot the dew-covered landscape. They produce a large tuberous root that when cooked, is similar to a sweet potato!
