1. SNPers & Scot Nats frequently make this claim, and have written articles etc. saying so 2. I never said the Crowns became one in 1603. The Union of the Crowns refers to the crowns being united under one person. It's a well-established term. 3. I merely said the Scots were the first to call for union (1689 & 1690s). I made no comment about the later politics behind the union. You have read far too much into my post and interpreted those basic facts in a way that was not intended. The difference between the SNP and the Unionist campaigns is simple. The SNP offer a route to full control of Scotland's economy, resources and international relations. The Unionist campaigns are solely on the premise that they can divvy up the block grant better than the others.
