@WallStreetApes Many resorts are owned by private equity. No big deal guys. I’m sure the Oatley family had a profit motive just like Blackstone does. Blackstone manages capital for quite a few Aussie superannuation funds, so I think of this as them also getting a little equity in Hamilton Is.

@BundyBard @WallStreetApes There is a lot of private property on Hamilton. Blackstone bought the assets such as marina, hotels, airstrip. Much like the Mulpha ( Malasian) ownership of sanctuary cove.

So when you see a chart like this where some signal results in an Rsquared of >0.7 you should ask yourself: “uh oh, what did I do wrong?” I’ll give you a hint: autocorrelation. I’ll give you a second hint: The chart shows forward 10 year returns, the SP500 has been around for ~100 years. How are there more than 10 points on this chart?

I’m just going to say it - RBA should hike 50bps in December and send a message. We are cooked til 2028 if they do nothing, because the Labor govt has proven they will not stop spending or importing people. Monetary policy is the only viable lever at this point imo.. #wearefucked

Sounds like a funded Ponzi or Pyramid scheme to me, but heck, what do I know about arbitrage...... I have only spent my career as a bond trader focusing on fixed income arbitrage involving synthetic swap spreads, positive carry models, yield curve modeling, basis trading, and synthetic basis trades (understanding the embedded optionally in the cash vs futures relationship in terms or rich vs cheap, changes in CTD, and horizon analysis to delivery).
