@cinnamonmaxxing as more morality towards animals it mostly just stems from emotional attachment as cats for instance were demonised heavily even as recently as 100 years ago so yes intelligence of the creature does play a part but its minimal

@cinnamonmaxxing I dont think its evil to want to eat meat since humans have evolved to essentially require it to maintain health but that doesnt mean we should leave it at that & not look for more ethical & environmental alternatives as its just chemicals in the end of the day

I never understood the obsession with farmers/hunters pretending that killing animals is some sacred beautiful thing that the creature is ok with when in reality youre just hurting it for your own gain

@missingcategory like where's the line between cruelty towards animals and more of a "natural" (for lack of a better word) instinct does this span from intelligence or something else (if possible) is it possible to know if a prey animal someone knows it's role in a food chains etcetera, etcetera

@cinnamonmaxxing I think we should aim to reduce net suffering overall in my opinion i think future wise we should look for non conscious alternatives for meat like cell cloning instead of just assuming natural = moral an animal eating meat is different imo as it lacks moral reasoning & choice

@missingcategory maybe this comes from what i study but i feel like the morality of eating meat is really nuanced like is it more or less moral for someone to shoot a pig and eat it as opposed to a wolf or other predator eating it anyway
