This led to our first partial outage – multiple large communities onboarded at once, which backlogged event ingestion This meant that for ~3 hours, new signups were waiting 15-90 mins to see msgs come through. Not what we wanted. 🥲 But the rest of the app was unaffected (you could still talk to Modem, browse, etc), and our event pipeline was flexible enough that we got through it w/ some tuning. Apologies to users affected by the service interruption. We'll keep making this better.

Today's the day! As promised a week – or maybe three 😅 – ago, the big update is finally here. The bot/repo is no longer just tracking system prompt + flags. It now tracks a much broader set of prompts and strings extracted from the bundled JS, backfilled from the first public version (v0.2.9) to latest. • Full prompt/string history backfilled from v0.2.9 → latest • Three new index views to browse this data (sorted by init version, last edit version, token count): github.com/marckrenn/clau… • Expanded metadata/stats pages: github.com/marckrenn/clau… • Enriched flags page with inferred "what this likely toggles" info (idea credit @sigkitten): github.com/marckrenn/clau… • Kept legacy system prompt + flags tracking as before – so if you're only interested in those, nothing will change for you • Bot now posts closer to release time (no longer waits for Anthropic's CLI changelog; changelog gets appended once available) • Announcement posts of near-upcoming releases (please mute #cccnext if not interested in those) 2.1.49 was a testrun for the new thread-format. I wasn't happy with most of it, so I already reworked a lot for the next release. There will still be bugs – please bear with me while I polish this over the next couple of weeks. When we started @modemdev we had a thesis: AI coding would take over, and engineers would need to spend more time on the other parts of shipping (but I wasn't 100% sure). Now it's February, and I've shipped more in a year than I have in my entire career. I've never been more convinced that Modem's what we need.
