Summary of Wassie Town Hall - February 23rd 2025 1. Mint Success and Community Growth: -Mint attracted 1,336 unique wallets, a significant achievement for a new chain. The mint achieved its dual goals: introducing the Wassies community to Bear Chain and expanding the Wassie family with Berachain natives, fostering a stronger, interconnected community appreciating the art and lore. -There were some hiccups involved with claiming bera airdrops (for Solana Wassieverse NFT holders). So this mechanism was paused during mint. It is our biggest priority now to finish distributing the remaining beras for airdrop. We do not intend to leave any Wassieverse holders behind. This may require re-mapping for some, and definitely will require address mapping for those who have not done so. You can expect updates on the status from us - but know we are working on it and the wheels are in motion. Keep your eyes on our Twitter and Discord. 2. Discord Roles: - None of the major wallet pairing companies support Berachain yet. Once they do, we would like to get it up and running. We currently use Matrica - they do not have plans to support, but wassies can request it from them to show there is demand! Alternatively, we could build a custom bot, but that is a less ideal option. 3. Why are Wassies on multiple chains? (Solana, Bera, etc): -The Berachain expansion is about growing the Wassies community by introducing it to a new ecosystem and vice versa, bringing berachain enthusiasts into the Wassie family. This dual-purpose move aims to broaden our reach, without diluting our Solana collection. The Solana genesis collection will always be the top main collection for Wassie. 4. Future Plans Overview: -The future of the Wassie is intentionally fluid to avoid rigid commitments that might not adapt to changing circumstances. General goals include continuing to foster the Wassie IP and community, exploring new opportunities as they arise, and avoiding overpromising on long-term projects that could become obsolete or impractical. 5. Near-Term Initiatives: -upgrading the Canvas platform with more features (e.g., import background images, use your own Wassie NFT), enhancing the Wassies website, and pursuing partnerships, particularly integrating and collaborating with Berachain projects -A new website feature called "the locker" is in development, allowing holders to connect their wallets (Solana or Berachain) to view and download media (e.g., banners, 3D files) -Another upcoming feature is a raffle giveaway system to reward the community, enabling entry with Wassie NFTs. These tools aim to enhance holder engagement and utility, though exact timelines depend on website completion. 6. Partnerships and IP Utilization: -The team prefers leveraging Wassies’ established IP through partnerships rather than building everything in-house. For example, while we love the idea of a detailed Wassie game, we acknowledge it’s inefficient to develop internally. Instead, we use our IP’s prominence (built over 7-8 years by founders like Inversebrah and Wasserpest) to negotiate involvement in external projects, such as games or DeFi protocols, benefiting holders through these collaborations. 7. Investments Disclosure: -The Wassies brand has invested in two projects: Monad (publicly known) and another unnamed project (kept confidential due to ongoing fundraising). Each investment was $100,000. The undisclosed project promises exciting real-world (IRL) activations. These investments will bolster the treasury, with benefits planned for holders, though specifics are pending. 8. Merchandise Updates: -The team is launching an Amazon store to streamline international shipping for Wassie merch, starting with Maru plushies and smaller items. Past merchandise efforts taught them about fulfillment challenges, especially internationally, prompting this shift. 9. IP Rights and Holder Benefits: -our intention is to allow holders to profit from and use their NFTs freely, but we need legal clarity first. We plan to consult experts, though no definitive answer is provided yet.
