Private firms providing services to the NHS made £1.6 billion profit in two years. That’s £1.6 billion being extracted from the NHS for shareholders rather than patients. We think the NHS should be about people, not profit. But what do you think? theguardian.com/society/2026/a…

We become MPs at the same time. I had to declare my final wage from the job I held BEFORE becoming an MP because it was within 12 months of the election. In what universe would one MP need to declare that and another not have to declare this?
Victoria Derbyshire@vicderbyshire

Has Nigel Farage broken parliamentary rules by failing to declare benefits provided by an ally who’s a convicted criminal? He says he hasn’t.  However, the Sunday Times reports that George Cottrell supplied security & social media staff who worked on Mr Farage's online content in the year before he was elected. It also claims the Reform leader used a property rented by Cottrell near Buckingham Palace. Mr Farage is already facing a parliamentary investigation over that £5m from a crypto billionaire based in Thailand, which wasn’t  registered. He says that was for personal security & was a personal gift/non-political His team have made a similar argument for why the "in kind" - non-cash - benefits allegedly from George Cottrell weren’t registered Under parliamentary rules, new MPs must declare financial interests and "registrable benefits" received in the 12 months before their election. The guidelines say purely personal gifts or benefits don’t need to be registered When he became an MP, Mr Farage DID register a £9,253 trip to Belgium in April 2024 donated by Cottrell, and later added a £15,276 donation from Cottrell for a US domestic flight in Dec 2024 A spokesman for Mr Farage said: ‘It comes as no surprise that the Sunday Times has chosen to publish this baseless & contrived story, covering a period of time when Nigel Farage was not even an active politician let alone an elected one, given that the newspaper backed the Labour Party at the last general election…..Contrary to the story's tone, no parliamentary rules have been broken.’

@LaindonFEMINIST Sadly, it appears to have always been the way of the political world. Revolutions come & go but eventually when the dust settles nothing has changed.

I’m so Sick of crooked men in our politics (I’m sure some women are too). Gove, Johnson, Farage, Burnham. Why a big part of our country love them has always baffled me. They are transparently crooked. It’s obvious to everyone. But somehow people think they’re ok. Why?

Can we possibly break all records with this simple one day poll Should Keir Starmer change his mind and remain as PM❓ It’s just a poll but can we send a clear message?

I still have incessant anger not only about the way @Keir_Starmer has been treated but by the way @andyburnham @UKLabour planned a coup to out him..and disregard members and what they wanted..they tried to pretend he was a bad prime minister when he was the best we ever had .

NEW: Before cryptobillionaire Christopher Harborne gave £5m to @nigel_farage, he gave £1m to Boris Johnson. For what?? Today @nerve_news reveals new evidence that tracks Harborne's investments in defence firm QinetiQ...to key defence announcements from Boris Johnson. 1/

It is difficult to reconcile this sentiment with the manner in which it is delivered. To extol the virtues of diversity of opinion whilst simultaneously denying others the opportunity to respond publicly is a contradiction that rather undermines the message itself. Open debate has always been the hallmark of a confident democracy. Those entrusted with high office should be prepared not only to advance their own views, but also to defend them when challenged. Shielding oneself from legitimate criticism does little to inspire confidence and instead creates the impression that dissenting voices are to be managed rather than heard. If the Labour Party is to remain a broad church, it cannot simply celebrate diversity of opinion in principle; it must be willing to accommodate it in practice. That requires openness, accountability and a willingness to engage with those who disagree, even when the questions are uncomfortable.
Lucy Powell MP@LucyMPowell

“All of us are very keen to ensure that there is diversity of opinion and representation of all the different traditions of the Party and country as well as obviously making sure that we’ve got strong voices from women at the top of the party.” theguardian.com/politics/2026/…

The UN for the first time in history officially named a sitting president, Donald Trump as a racist whose hate speech has caused grave human rights violations Trump didn't make the United States racist... He made the racists feel comfortable enough to show their racism in public
