went to the last day of the Raymond Briggs exhibition at ditchling museum yesterday. All the drawings and sketches and layers of care taken. All the grief and love. The masterpiece of When the Wind Blows. Heart cracked open at the short video of him at home on his crumpled sofa.

An excellent novel. So funny and honest about how dark people can be, but honest about how vulnerable they are too (reminded me of Francis Bacon's paintings in that way). Very rare to read something which you feel takes you as seriously as Wendy's work does.
