Unironically this is the reason why there is so much Fanart of Hoyoverse (Genshin, Honkai) games. They have managed to stay relevant for much longer than other fandoms so there is less of a pressure to keep up with the trend with your art or even just with your community

Every year of playing HSR there's players who are deeply attached to the previous planet or characters, that they cannot seem to be interested in the new one. During Amphoreus 3.0-2, so many of my friends quit.. Now my Ampho friends quitting or not into Planarcadia patches 🥀🥀
