pulsevision ehan extancy behind main points: - started working on it at the end of november last year - pd told ehan they had 10 choices for who to work with but decided to go with him - worked on it thinking about the members being on a red carpet or walking down a runway, modelling for designer brands - used an analog synth (prophet-6) in keeping with the sounds used back in the day, though used serum once while making the melody - made 5 base lines for verse 2, thinking the verse should match the vibes of an afterparty following the previously established fashion show - decided to use serum for the one section in verse 2 as it was easier to fine tune the pitch, wanted to change pitches slightly to capture a slightly tipsy feeling - pre-chorus being empty is supposed to mimic a dip in energy after partying hard - associated voguing or xlov's image with elegance/classiness, princesses and queens - wanted to include something that makes you think of a queen's hand movements so included the snapping sounds in the bridge - used semitones in the melody line to create a dreamlike sound - the break right before the final chorus (after muti's 'let the universe unfold' line) took a full day for him to write, thought it was the second most important part of the song - kept the crashes to the end of the song to increase their impact and highlight the member's performance even more - did a lot of research to make sure they were keeping with the genre, watched shorts of voguing competitions and actually took the beat from one of them to use at the end - thought wumuti and rui have great chemistry so did his best to do that chemistry justice through the song
