one of my 7th graders just brought back a book and said "I realized I didn't like scary books," as they checked out a happy romance. And, yet again, this is why WE TRUST STUDENTS WITH THEIR OWN READING CHOICES. I cannot stress enough that kids GET this.

Parenthood has caused my perspective on homework to shift DRAMATICALLY lol Like, y’all had 8 hours w my kid. Y’all couldn’t fit all the work in there?? I only got 3ish hours between home and bedtime. That’s OUR time. You’ll see them tomorrow 😆

I don't know how @Mrs_McHugh picked this gem, but it was the perfect cry fest to end my family vacation and flight home from beautiful Puerto Rico. Family, in all it's forms, is just an amazing gift.
