Twenty minutes earlier, Rowling celebrated the Olympics' decision to ban transgender women from competing in women’s events by writing: “Today’s ruling by the IOC means a welcome return to fair sport for women and girls, but I’ll never forget the scandal of Paris 2024, when people who consider themselves supremely virtuous and progressive publicly cheered on men punching women.” Rowling was referring to the Olympics decision to allow Algeria’s Imane Khelif to compete in the women’s boxing competition at the Paris 2024 summer games, one year after Khelif was disqualified from the Women’s World Championships for failing a gender eligibility test due to elevated levels of testosterone in her system. I fully believe “separate the art from the artist” is only applicable when said artist is either dead or financially removed from their art.

JK Rowling actively uses the money she makes off of this to support anti-trans legislation, so supporting this show is supporting her, no way around it.
I hope they protect those kids, but my hopes are low because Paapa Essiedu has already been thrown to the fandom with no protection....
