Yes, VAuto is user contribution and some level of scrape data from my understanding from what dealers tell me. To see Carvana sales and data you'll need reporting like @crosssellreport which is based on DMV data and shows all dealers and sales. Happy to show you what its all about!

It is my understanding that VAuto does not include Carvana vehicles in their competitive sets. They simply don’t show up. Can anyone confirm? FYI: VAuto is dealership used car appraisal software. A competitive set is a list of comparable vehicles.

Cars Commerce is coming for legacy dealership software providers like Cox Automotive and CDK. And I think they’re about to hit the nail on the head. My only question is whether they can get there before Capital One… And yes, I mean the bank.

@shiftfour_ @sweatystartup I’d say you’re wrong. Most people in the world want to live like the wealthy Americans they see on TV. Most Europeans wouldn’t give up their socialised healthcare, safety nets or corporeal safety unless they were paid enough to provide them privately themselves.

One big problem with the state of entrepreneurship is that many founders think that everyone else is just like them. The reality is that more than 50% of Americans can’t cover an unexpected $500 dollar expense. Most people get paid by the hour. And more than half of Americans say that they live paycheck to paycheck. Want a better view of reality? Log off of social media and go to your nearest Walmart. 2/3rds of the country shops there every month. Study these folks and think about what they need. If you think about the world through this lens, you are going to find a lot more realistic problems to solve and businesses to start. Watch this clip for more:

@NoRiskNoParty Tires themselves aren’t very profitable (retail margins of 19% is great and that’s gross). The money is in the service
