So deserved, Revolut is an amazing company and significantly changed my life
Before Revolut I had so many problems with banks
I used to have a Dutch bank called Rabobank who would freeze my card at random times while I was traveling, and no they didn't even have an unfreeze button in the app, I mean they barely had an app
I'd literally have to fly back to Holland and go into the bank office in my tiny hometown to then make an appointment with them to unfreeze it
One time in I think 2014 I was in Bali and they froze it, I flew back and at the bank office they said it was time for me to get a mortgage, when I said I didn't want one they said do you have insurance? They were freezing my card to then use it to make me come to their office to then upsell me shit
Another time in 2017 (I think some of you remember) they froze my card in the US, and with no money I became homeless, luckily X (back then Twitter) helped me out and you all ordered Ubers for me on request and @manuthan gave me a place to sleep at @outsiteco in Venice
You don't hate dinosaur banks enough!
After experiencing all that I got Revolut and I never had any issue like that again
(Well except for moving to Portugal where I was forced to open a Portuguese bank account at MillenniumBCP, which was possibly an even worse experience than Rabobank, my premium package private banking account manager would always be unreachable and only email me to tell me she'd go on holiday and would be even more unreachable 😂)
Revolut has been my main bank app for the last decade and it's been wonderful, I've pumped millions through it and it barely flinched, sometimes they ask me documents to prove where the money comes from, but that process is super smooth and via chat
Revolut is another great example that you can make something that makes everyone's life significantly better and society will reward you by making you rich!

Ok, somewhat more seriously, @sama has been going on about the need to change the social contract for some years, and he is right, of course.
If AI reaches human level intelligence at a labor cost below that of most current professions, then a lot of people will lose purchasing power extremely quickly. You don't need a degree in economics to see that this is not a stable situation. Though I recently read a 50 page paper with an elaborate economics model that, well, arrived at this very conclusion.
The obvious thing to happen in that situation is that governments will nationalize AI companies. Sanders is somewhat early to the game, but then again who knows if he'll live to see AGI, so it kinda makes sense, or at least not less sense than American politics in general.
That said, a group from OpenAI proposed already in April to have a "public wealth fund" to give people (presumably US citizens) shares in the AI-generated wealth (see below). I guess that's the smart thing to say if you live in a country where the average Joe is armed to the teeth and drives a bulletproof car, whether or not you actually mean it.

Okay, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but it boots, my own completely custom operating system boots!!!
You can see more about this journey in the tweet below.
Started in Codex with /goal on May 4th.
Totally wild. Surreal feeling right now.
If I could hug @thsottiaux I would 🤗

Morgan@morganlinton
Back on May 4th, I started building an operating system with Codex + GPT 5.5. Custom kernel, full OS from scratch. And yes, this is a monster build, and it's still going. I've been running in multiple sprints with /goal which has been awesome. Still going, 6+ days into the current sprint, and making real progress. Feeling confident sometime in June I will be running my own, completely custom operating system on one of my computers, lifelong dream, very excited. And yes, this OS will be free, and open source, so I hope others will contribute and help me make it something special.

First impressions of Tesla FSD in Estonia (442km)
- It’s genuinely impressive in the most unremarkable ways possible.
- It’s predictable and confident, incredibly human-like.
- Often too slow and overly cautious.
- End of trip parking hit or miss.
PS. Weather has been perfect.

The Codex lead at OpenAI @thsottiaux dropped out of his PhD in two weeks. His take on education now: "It's important to follow your instincts and do things that give you energy. "

A farmer buys a young cock. As soon as he gets it home, it f*cks all the farmer's 150 hens. The farmer is impressed. At lunch the cock screws all 150 hens again.
The next day it's f*cking the ducks and geese too. Later he finds the cock lying on the ground half-dead with vultures circling overhead.
The farmer says, “You deserved it, you horny bastard!” The cock opens one eye, points up, and says, “Shhhhhh. They’re about to land!!”

In many foreign countries the worst thing to call someone is a sucker. That means you got cheated. Someone swindled you on a transaction. But that isn't a huge insult in America. Why? It implies the wrong is with them, not you. You were a trusting consumer for this one-off transaction.
Whereas, the worst insult in America is to be called a loser. A permanent state of defeat and not being able to compete

Visited a prison in Europe
It was chilling
The worst of the worst are housed there
Men who sent unsolicited cold emails
Executives who stored a customer's email address without consent
And the worst of all:
A guy serving a life sentence for not properly centering the cookie warning on his website
Lock them up and throw away the key!
