Meleys, the Red Queen was the most beautiful dragon George ever created.
While other dragons looked like monsters, Meleys looked almost unreal. Scarlet scales. Copper horns. Pink wings that seemed to glow in the sky.
She wasn’t the largest dragon alive.
She wasn’t the oldest.
She wasn’t even the most famous.
But when she took flight, the sky belonged to her because she carried herself differently.
And beneath all that elegance was something many fans overlook:
She was the fastest 💨
In the books, Meleys was considered one of the swiftest dragons in Westeros. A dragon that could strike before larger dragons even realized the fight had begun.
That’s what made her so dangerous.
Anyone can fear a giant like Vhagar.
But Meleys was the kind of dragon that made you believe size wasn’t everything.
She was just like her rider, Rhaenys: Beautiful & Experienced.
And far more dangerous than anyone gave her credit for.
The Red Queen didn’t demand respect.
She already had it.

We call Balerion the Black Dread a monster. Old Valyria would’ve called him average. The Targaryens were one of the weaker dragonlord families, yet Balerion is still the biggest dragon Westeros ever saw. Now imagine the dragons owned by the families above them. Makes you wonder what really died in the Doom.
