I’ve seen a number of takes flying around, especially from some big accounts, suggesting that I intentionally created a situation just to drag someone or farm engagement. Let me say this clearly, that was never the intention. When Victor Osimhen replied to me, I understood what that moment could become. I’ve been on X for over 5 years, and like many people on this platform, I’ve been waiting for an opportunity like that, one that could finally help grow my page. So yes, I had a plan. To bring the giveaway to my timeline, ask people who were interested to follow, like, and comment, and then pick winners from there. Nothing unusual. In fact, it’s the same strategy many of the big accounts use every day. When I was contacted, I explained clearly one phone that this opportunity meant something to me, that I wanted to use it to grow my account and engage my audience. But instead of understanding that, I was met with resistance. At that point, I had two options, step aside or stand my ground. I chose to stand my ground. Since yesterday, I’ve also seen some of these same big accounts resort to calling me names and throwing insults. Interestingly, the moment I return that same energy, I get blocked. That says a lot. What followed was simply me standing my ground when I felt that opportunity was being taken away from me. If people supported me, it was not because I manipulated them, but because they saw a situation and chose what to stand for. Now, to those implying I did this for clout or monetization, let’s not pretend. The same way I wanted to grow my page is the same way many big accounts have built theirs. Visibility. Engagement. Influence. These things don’t happen by accident, they are pursued. The only difference is that some people are more comfortable admitting it than others. I did not manufacture this opportunity, but I refused to let it slip away. And I stand by that. Thank you. SAMBO

Nothing pissed me off more than the part where Abazz told the guy, “Have a good evening sir.” Meaning I am done having this conversation with you, take 7 jerseys or forget it. Such a thief. If not for Twitter, they suppose use tyre do you necklace.

Michael Carrick wrote about this experience in his book, ‘Between the Lines’. It wasn't a nice narration. He wrote about how difficult a footballer’s life is and how that trip wasn't convenient for many of them. His description of Nigeria and Abuja in that book was scathing. He wrote about some Policemen breaking a photographer’s camera and beating him for taking a picture of them. He said he yelled after them. “They grabbed him, jabbed him in the ribs and dragged him round the back of the hotel. ‘Whoa, what’s up? It’s only a picture. We never saw him again. It was all a bit over the top,” he wrote. In another paragraph, his words were; “the whole experience in Abuja was like being trapped in a horror film”. Read his conclusion; “The trip lasted only 16 hours, but Abuja’s effects lasted longer. I vomited for a week, but some lads had it far worse. They were so sick that United sent a sample off to some university and, I’m not kidding, they found monkey and rat shit in the sample. The university docs said they’d never seen anything like it before. So, no, I won’t remember Abuja happily and I can’t imagine the other lads will either. Those are the type of souvenirs you don’t want to bring back from tours abroad.” It was the last time any big team was in Nigeria. Eighteen years ago. We will learn one way or the other. My name is Rilwan, I love and write about football systems, memories and the depths behind the game. Follow me and repost if you want more of this.

Ballack and Pizarro rejected new Bayern contracts to join Chelsea. Modric and Steven Gerard handed a transfer requests to join Chelsea. Arsenal was our Strasburg. A ballon d’or winner forced a move to Chelsea. World deadliest striker as of then Torres, moved to Chelsea. Ronaldinho twerked for Chelsea and Chelsea said no. Deco and Belleti, Fábregas and Pedro all dumped Barca for Chelsea. Willian was coming for his medical to Tottenham and when he heard about Chelsea interest, he made a U turn. Makalele came from Madrid. Madrid got angry cuz of the way Robinho was romancing about Chelsea move that they tagged it disrespectful. Hazard turned down move from all the top European clubs to join Chelsea. Aguero and David Silva were begging for Chelsea to sign them. Ancelloti left Milan to join Chelsea. Mourinho left a treble winning Club to join Chelsea and still left Madrid to join Chelsea. AVB left a treble winning club to join Chelsea. When Chelsea calls, it’s a different calls. Player were happy to even sit on Chelsea bench. When players leave Chelsea, it’s downhill from there. I can go on and on. But today, our partners are now Ipswich, Brighton and some Brazilian leagues with coaches without track records. God bless Roman, God bless Emenalo, God bless Marina and Petre Cech.
