@brynspiration @mrallanmaths @dnleslie @AndyBrown314 Provided the in-service days are used for meaningful PL. Despite being the prime contractual teacher collaboration time the existing ones are rarely used for this but driven by admin and accountability activities. If extras are used for more of the same they will not have impact.

@mrallanmaths @dnleslie @stuartphysics @AndyBrown314 I'd say double the number of in-set days to give more time for it. Schools should get autonomy to decide their PL needs, with some time for LA wide subject networks (or in clusters for big LAs).

@dnleslie @stuartphysics @AndyBrown314 Finally got around to listening - always great to hear Andy's thoughts. Time for subject specific professional learning is so important. The mistake of focusing on skills over knowledge was made twice: first in the curriculum for students, and in development for teachers.
