You can’t launch a tunnel boring machine (TBM) without a name. So we recruited these youngsters to name the 8 SRL East TBMs. When SRL East opens in 2035, they’ll be among the first to ride it to work, uni or TAFE 🚆 We’re loving these ground-breaking names 😍

Works are underway to prepare the Burwood site for tunnelling to start this year. Crews are laying the foundations for the spoil removal shed, which will store excavated soil from the tunnels before it’s transported off site.

Pinewood Primary students have been learning about tunnel boring machines and building their own models with Dr Loz from @‌scienceplaykids. 💡 With tunnelling starting this year, we’re showing kids the cool careers in science right here in Victoria.
