Third Room

Hey everyone, it's been a while and we have some unfortunate news 😕 The Third Room team was recently laid off and the project is currently on pause. It's been a wild ride, and we're really proud of what we've built. 1/x

The development on the project will be paused and the team is all taking a break while we figure out next steps for the project. Thank you everyone for your support!

The project itself will stay up and open source on the @matrixdotorg GitHub. The thirdroom.io homeserver will also continue to be hosted. It's always been designed around resiliency and always has been truly decentralized so it's not dependent on our homeserver.

Working on a little platformer demo for the Web Scene Graph API!

Here’s a small peek at a Passthrough AR demo we made using Third Room’s upcoming WebSceneGraph API! All of the live data is being published into a Matrix room and read by the script to render flight paths in real time! Soon everyone will be able to write their own scripts!

Third Room gets its name from Third Places. One of our goals has always been to help people create community spaces. Virtual worlds that are truly yours to create and live in.

Work on the Third Room Editor is underway! Press the ` key at any time to open the editor. Navigate and edit the scene or any resource such as materials. Everything can be edited and previewed in real time! More coming soon!
