On June 6, 1944, he landed on Omaha Beach, facing unimaginable danger so others could live in freedom. In his later years, millions came to know his warmth, humor, and humility online, as he often said he was simply "lucky" to have survived when so many did not. With his passing, a living link to D-Day fades into history, and the duty to remember the courage and sacrifice of that generation now rests with us. May he rest in peace. 🫡
