@toplinedaniel @Somtolism7 It doesn’t mean they’ve resigned. They’ll be court martial if found. And then dismissed as a deserter. Some would be locked up without court martial. Those are the unlucky once.

On this very day, many soldiers from Maiduguri realized they were about to be deployed around the Bama axis. Out of fear and understanding of the reality on ground, some dropped their rifles and abandoned the job entirely. As we got to Konduga, we lost the captain to an IED while he was introducing us to the terrain. That was the moment many of us truly understood why some of the Maiduguri indigenes among us had chosen to flee earlier. Some battles never truly leave the minds of those who survived them, and some wounds of war remain long after the gunfire fades. Say no to state sponsored terrorism !!! Ex SF soldier 🥷

You want a global talent from a guy who barely has access to 5 hours of electricity. And the cost of data is cooking his ass. His family is asking him for help with money. This new age billionaires talk too much why not build a Telecom & call out the Nigerian government, Oponu.

Police, security sources dismiss alleged attack at Plateau burial ceremony By: Zagazola Makama The Plateau State Police Command has dismissed reports alleging that gunmen attacked mourners during a burial ceremony in the state, describing the claims as false and misleading. The command’s position corroborated earlier security reports by counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, which questioned the authenticity of viral videos and claims circulating on social media regarding the incident. In a statement issued on Tuesday in Jos, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Alfred Alabo, said no attack was recorded during the burial ceremony. According to him, the event was conducted under strict security supervision, with the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), police personnel and other security agencies present throughout the ceremony. “The claims are grossly exaggerated, inaccurate, and do not reflect the true situation on the ground,” the statement said. The police added that the burial was carried out peacefully without any external attack as alleged in some reports. Earlier, Zagazola Makama had also disputed the viral claims, alleging that the video being circulated was misleading and appeared to have been recorded by individuals within the gathering. According to the report, armed youths suspected to be members of local vigilante groups were seen firing gunshots within the burial ground during the procession, raising concerns over the proliferation of small arms among civilians. The report questioned how some of the youths gained access to firearms, including pistols and other weapons allegedly seen in the footage. Security sources said authorities were examining the circumstances surrounding the display and use of weapons at the gathering. Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in Plateau, CP Bassey Ewah, has reinforced security in the area by deploying additional personnel, including mobile policemen, to prevent any breakdown of law and order. The police urged the public to disregard unverified reports capable of inciting panic and advised media organisations and social media users to verify sensitive security-related information before dissemination. The command reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.

IGP TUNJI DISU ORDERS NATIONWIDE ARMS AND AMMUNITION AUDIT ACROSS ALL POLICE COMMANDS The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc (+), NPM, has directed all Commissioners of Police nationwide to immediately commence a comprehensive audit of arms and ammunition within their respective Commands and formations. The directive was issued during the Emergency Conference with Commissioners of Police and members of the press held at the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Peacekeeping Centre, Force Headquarters, Abuja.  According to the Inspector-General, the audit exercise is aimed at strengthening accountability, identifying operational gaps, preventing misuse of Police assets, and enhancing the overall operational readiness of the Nigeria Police Force. The IGP emphasized that the exercise is not a routine administrative procedure, but a critical institutional measure designed to ensure that all arms and ammunition entrusted to the Force are properly documented, secured, and optimally deployed in line with operational standards and national security objectives.  Commissioners of Police have been directed to ensure that the audit process is thorough, transparent, and professionally documented, with detailed reports to be submitted to the Force Headquarters within the stipulated timeframe. The Inspector-General reiterated the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to institutional reforms anchored on accountability, professionalism, transparency, and effective internal control systems. The Nigeria Police Force assures Nigerians that ongoing reforms under the current leadership are focused on building a more disciplined, efficient, and accountable institution capable of effectively responding to contemporary security challenges.   DCP ANTHONY OKON PLACID, psc(+), mnipr, mni
