Can someone on here please explain why we "need" inflation and why a positive inflation target by central banks of ~2% p.a. (Ie. "slowly" eroding the value of your currency over time) is the "right" number? I've never seen a good argument for this and I've only seen crap arguments against the alternative (ie. deflationary currency). TIA 🙏
