But not really much coincidence when you consider the # of stats you could look at to find a few that reflect this number, there was a pretty good chance they were gonna find 5 or 6. Not to mention the fact that one of these isn’t really the # they’re claiming it is.

I’ve seen it in long track speedskating, luge, and downhill. All 3 were great, but the downhill was breathtaking.

That is, if you beat one opponent to a W, that means it’s more likely that you also beat others to a W.

@mikeandallie What are the chances that any specific person beats me 11 times consecutively in an unbiased coin flip? I think (0.5)^11 = 1/2048.
Therefore in a sample of 999,999, I expect approximately 488 people will win 11 times before I win once.

@Publius215 @GingrichSports It’s not weird, it’s an indication of him having fewer opportunities to collect HR and RBI. That’s 100 plate appearances where he’s not getting pitches to hit. More than 1 in every 6 plate appearances he’s being avoided by the pitcher.

40 HR, 30 SB, 100 RBI, 100 R and 100 BB has not been done this century. The only times it’s happened:
