The Migration Pact: Hungary’s Role and the Tisza River’s Role in It. So many lies, so much fake news—let’s set the record straight. The Migration Pact has not been under negotiation since 2024, but for 8 years (2015–2024). The EU finally adopted it on May 14, 2024. Fun fact: TISZA has been present in the European Parliament since June 9, 2024. So from Hungary’s perspective, this is a defeat for Fidesz, as it was unable to prevent it. The new pact is, specifically, a TIGHTENING of the EU’s previous migration policy. According to the pact, there are three ways to act: through resettlement, financial assistance to countries under migrant pressure, or technical assistance. The TISZA government won't accept migrants but will provide technical assistance in implementing mandatory EU rules, e.g., in protecting the EU’s external borders. Anyone who claims otherwise (e.g., Fidesz representatives, MHM agitators, propagandists, paid opinion leaders) is lying. The pact will now enter into force on June 12, 2026, and is binding on all member states. But let’s debunk all the nonsense you’re spouting with one simple question: If the EU is flooding the country with migrants in exchange for funds under the migration pact, how is it possible that the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, and Romania weren’t flooded, even though they received the funds? No need for hysteria, just facts.
