Every year, my dad’s side of the family goes to Sea Isle City, NJ, over Labor Day, where we stay in a house on the bay. Our back porch and dock face west, so the sunset views are spectacular. I used to sit and watch the boats coming back in during the evening with Poppy (my grandpa). I was out on the dock thinking about him and watching the sun set as the boats came in when I captured this moment. It’s one of my favorite photos, partly because of the beauty of the evening, but also because of the memories it brings back. I entered this photo into an online competition and made it to the final round. The competition is more of a popularity contest than a traditional judged photo contest, so I’d really appreciate your support through votes and/or shares to your friends. Went to Glacier National Park last fall with my baby brother but never posted it. Renting a boat to go out on Lake McDonald was a 10/10 experience. Highly recommend. #glaciernationalpark #boating #nature #montana

In mid March I went to Death Valley to see the superbloom. Much to my surprise, Lake Manly was filling Badwater Basin making a beautiful clear blue lake! I had heard the lake had appeared several weeks before but had not expected it to last this long and hadn't checked on updates before going. I entered the park through Salsberry Pass in the south and worked my way down to Badwater Basin. The Desert Gold put a tinge of yellow across much of the valley adding an unusual splash of color to the desert. They were occasionally mixed with a light sprinkling of a blue flowers that I didn't identify nor could I find a safe place to stop for pictures where I saw them. The clear blue water of Lake Manly was amazing to see and reminded me of the ocean in the Bahamas. After viewing the lake and Badwater Basin at 282 feet below sea level I drove towards 190 and Furnace Creek Visitor Center where the thermometer showed only 98°. From there I headed out toward Beatty Junction making a few quick stops to take pictures of different flowers and then climbed up out of the park through Daylight Pass at 4,317 feet.

Standing in Badwater Basin 282 feet below sea level is an interesting feeling. Maybe its just the sign way above you pointing out sea level, but it felt strange in a way I don't have words to describe. The sun was so intense my phone was overheated by the time I finished recording this video. #badwaterbasin #deathvalley #nationalparks

Video taken March 16, 2026. I just didnt get it posted right away. The sun was so bright I literally couldn't see my phone screen to see what I was recording but I think the video shows the water pretty well in spite of that! I went to see the superbloom and had no idea there was still water in the basin. It was so awesome to see it in person. #deathvalley #superbloom #lakemanly #nationalparks
