KC Concepcion among the WRs I charted in this draft class for #ReceptionPerception:
- No. 1 in success rate vs. man coverage
- No. 3 in success rate vs. zone coverage
- No. 1 in success rate vs. press coverage
- No. 4 in contested catch rate (feels notable)
- No. 9 in rate of plays in space with a broken tackle
And yes, the second-highest drop rate (7.4%), but if that's your point of emphasis, I think you'll always miss the forest for the trees at this position. If everything else translates, you live with 7-8 drops in a season because the plays you make outweigh the plays you don't.
Maybe someone with a better, longer memory than me can think of a highly-drafted prospect who checked every other box, but outright failed because of drops. I don't think that example exists.
Reception Perception@RecepPerception
"He demolishes man and press coverage, is a reliable target against zone coverage and makes plays above the rim and with the ball in space. You really can’t ask for much more out of a Round 1 receiver prospect." @MattHarmon_BYB would have no issues if a team took KC Concepcion in the top 20 of the draft. 📈
