Cookeville combined rate $3.59 Nashville combined rate $3.25 Nashville has higher real estate costs so unless the State legislature is gonna make Broadway a commercial rent control zone, idk what Ferrier what’s to happen here…

Property taxes have surged across much of Tennessee in recent years, with some communities seeing increases of 25 to 50 percent. In Davidson County, property taxes have climbed about 60 percent over the past five years. But in Putnam County, leaders have taken a markedly different approach. bit.ly/3Lg2XwY

@603Freeman That’s actually pretty counterintuitive 😂 Nashville home prices are so high, yet rents haven’t really been pushed up. Unless they’re doing some kind of “Broadway rent control,” it’s hard to explain Ferrier’s logic.

@603Freeman As a long time resident of Putnam County, this misrepresents Cookeville commercial real estate. The city makes the bulk of its tax revenue off the properties- almost all chain/franchise- at the interstate interchanges. The historic district, maybe 4 blocks, hardly compares.
