@ABCsofADHD I’m still dealing with something that was a consequence of adhd after like…11 years. It’s forgetting to pay bills on time, being late for work and having a hard time keeping a job down cause my sense of time is ruined, not messaging people back and so much more.

@ABCsofADHD @Madiii03 I wish everyone understood their "ADHD moments" are ours 24/7 365. Our ND faucet never turns off, medication can help but it won't make us NT.

@ABCsofADHD Diagnosed at 7, I Was given Adderall, the side effects were not fun, I now have IBS and chronic stomach issues
I feel like the importance of letting a child grow without brain altering medication should not be understated
English

@ABCsofADHD Tell me if I'm wrong but this just feels like gatekeeping. NT people have some of the symptoms we have, so "a little ADHD" feels like an inept description to me.
English

@ABCsofADHD So a kid can show all the signs of ADHD but not actually have it (if that makes sense)?
English

@ABCsofADHD I think neurotypical people should be able to use ADHD tips where and when they need to if they experience some symptoms, without telling people with actual ADHD they are lazy or not trying hard enough
English

@ABCsofADHD Hi Danny, you list yourself as Advice Giver - can I DM you?
English

@ABCsofADHD When you tell someone that when you leave the house you have to go back for something you’ve forgotten.
‘Oh I do that too.’
‘Yeah but do you do it every single time you leave the house, and do you go back at least twice, every time?’
English

@ABCsofADHD Crying to my boyfriend(has adhd) that I struggle to *focus*on my thesis, how overwhelmed I get about simple tasks, the rocking I couldn't stop as a child, my severe depression, rambling and not knowing when to stop talking..I wish I had known earlier that I wasn't 'just'a lazy girl
English

@ABCsofADHD @bndbailey I frequently fantasize what my life would look like if I had gotten diagnosed and the support and help I needed before undergrad vs after while struggling in my 1st career job. i barely graduated after 5.5 years with a 2.1 GPA 😔 & classes now have been straight As

@ABCsofADHD For years I would joke with my partner about how relatable ADHD memes were but watching him function was like "No, I obviously don't have it, lol"
Last year I started looking into getting assessed/treatment. But everything clicked this year when I found my old school records.
English

@ABCsofADHD That "everyone is" is used to shame people with ADHD. It is also used to shame their parents ('all kids are rambunctious').
English

@ABCsofADHD @PurgeThatUrge Getting "if you would only focus you would reach your potential" EVERY year on your performance review and constantly being under threat of a PIP

@ABCsofADHD I hate this saying so much because it completely downplays the struggle. I was diagnosed last December and it made my whole life make sense.
English

@ABCsofADHD Besides, if you relate to most ADD/ADHDers, I've got news for you.
English

@ABCsofADHD It is similar with people telling you that everyone has anxiety when you have general anxiety disorder....
English

@ABCsofADHD It is not am exaggeration when I say that having untreated ADHD has literally ruined my life. We can all be forgetful at times, but for some it's truly debilitating.
English

@ABCsofADHD @jiggyjayy2 Time blindness, losing things, and being disorganized seem to be the biggest issues for me☹️ I’ve gotten at least 3 new bank cards every year, I’m late to work all the time no matter when my shift starts, I could wake up extra early and still be late. I get flustered-
