Biden winning GA by *0.2%* in 2020 REALLY did a number on people’s brains. I’ve been hearing “it’s gonna become the next VA any day now bro” for the past 5 years and it’s still generally an R-leaning state. Nobody talked the same way about MI after Trump won it by 0.2% in 2016.

@elections_w_etn Not really it shifted right in 2024 from 2020 and republicans had an awful gov candidate and besides the NCGOP is very well run

@Axerixing A shift right isn't a trend right. It trended to the left all three Trump cycles. Yes, the NCGOP will definitely stop its sliding, but most likely the almost assured Roy Cooper victory will not be Democrats' last in the state over the coming years.
