@BDevlin1 I was shocked by Bishop Robert Barron’s description of some of his experience in seminary, in his book Letter to a Suffering Church (which was an astonishing attempt to reframe the abuse problem in the Church, in my view).

@BDevlin1 Hail Mary Corner by Bryan Payton was written about his time in the local Vancouver Seminary in the 1980s. The minor seminary is still open today taking in boys from Grade 8-12. @BDevlin1 I could certainly supply some stories of a particular seminary in the 1980s...

@BDevlin1 I think this is vital. TBH, I think "seminarians" ought to have to live with families for the duration and hold down a secular part-time job, then have both feedback regularly to the Rector. In fact, maybe even make the priesthood non-stipendiary: increase pastoral lay ministry.
