To be honest, it’s getting to the stage that people don’t care because they’re being squeezed from every side.
Cost of living through the roof, power and gas rises, diesel well over €2 a litre, and now more talk of surveillance, facial recognition and digital controls.
Maybe Ireland isn’t China yet, but the infrastructure for that kind of control is being built piece by piece.
Ireland does feels like a test tube for the EU. But if people don’t stand up now, when will they?
The public have had enough. Since 2020, the cost of simply living has become a joke.
