👑Tiara: A royal priesthood. I Reign!
I once wrote a script for a Nollywood director in Enugu and had the opportunity to be on set. Let me tell you plainly, those romantic scenes are far from comfortable for the actors. I watched one of our biggest legends rush off immediately after a scene just to wash her mouth. But when you see the final movie, you’d think she was completely at ease, even enjoying it. That’s acting. That’s professionalism. So when I see people dragging these actors, calling them names over such scenes, it honestly makes me cringe. You have to be out of touch to think they’re having a good time, especially when you consider the number of crew members standing around during filming. Nigerians really need to do better. Imagine trying to tear someone down or campaign against them simply because of a role they played. Give these actors some credit. What they do isn’t easy.

“Kissing in movies isn’t as easy as people think, yet we’re often criticized for it. Sharing a kiss with another actor can feel uncomfortable, and honestly, I haven’t had many pleasant on-screen kissing experiences. Having someone in your personal space like that isn’t exactly enjoyable. People assume we like it, but we’re simply acting out a role for the story. If it were up to me, I’d rather not kiss anyone on screen. It’s one part of the job that isn’t appreciated enough, if anything, we deserve credit for it. There was even a day I had to kiss four different actresses. I understand why people judge, but instead of criticism, maybe we deserve some applause.” — Reality TV star Saga Adeolu shares his experience, describing on-screen kissing as more uncomfortable than it appears.
