@DTR_Vector The only “blame” they have is working without a contractual agreement. The studio is 100% at fault for taking advantage of people who they knew would be eagar to have their work be apart of a game they enjoy.
English

I mean, “fault” is a strong term but, yes?
Are Cutting Edge (not “Dokkan” btw) scummy? Absolutely, but these people worked without contracts.
Saying stuff like “🤓Actually, the animation industry in Japan is just like that, and why would they turn down an opportunity to work on a dragon ball game”
This, this is exactly why, because when shit like this happens, they have less ground to stand on because they signed no contract, never agree to do any work in life without a contract.
You can’t use the excuse of “this is how shitty the animation industry is, so that’s why they worked with those shit conditions” and then turn around and say it’s wrong because they’ve been taken advantage of for willingly working in said shit conditions full well knowing how poor it is.
There’s plenty of jobs around the world that are underpaid and under appreciated, just saying something like “they should be payed more/be compensated” is an extremely naive take, when they were working under no contract, and continued to do so after pushing for one and still not getting anything. They ignored the warning signs.
Again, I agree that it’s scummy, these artists essentially got swindled for their amazing work, and I feel bad that it happened to them, I think they should’ve been properly compensated for their work. However as far as “fault” goes, THEY chose to work without a contract, CE is in the WRONG, but the artists made a poor business decision in agreeing to work with them in those conditions.

@DTR_Vector after reading this its more cutting edges fault then akatsuki. guaranteed now that this is out akatsuki is asking questions and probably thinking about legal actions against cutting edge because what they did is subcontracting but not sure what jp law is but pretty sure not legal
English

@DTR_Vector The studio is the main actor at fault here, but the animators agreed to work like this which is dumb as fuck of them
English

@DTR_Vector Cutting Edge operated unethically, (possibly illegally) and without permission from the rightsholders. They were given the benefit of the doubt by the animators and they abused them in return
still, taking on more than 30 cuts without first signing a contract was risky
English

@DTR_Vector I've seen some retards on this site deepthroat Bandai's giant extended power pole like it was giving them free Dragon stones per the damage control they were running
English

@DTR_Vector I think it should be a life lesson to the person to always make sure to have a contract
English

@DTR_Vector Kinda moreso now there were a great many alarms ringing
English

@DTR_Vector Yes, 100%. Dumbass had alarms ringing from every corner and now they complain they got scammed 😭😭
English

@DTR_Vector Legally, its cutting edges fault.
Morally, its dokkan's fault for pressuring them out of a contract after they asked multiple times to ask for a contract.
English

@DTR_Vector @MiaMagics I cannot believe the French cock cheesers were shilling for Bandai
English

@DTR_Vector Yes, people will continue. Both are wrong, but the one who could end up harming many animators in this case is not Dokkan, but the animators themselves by exposing this situation thinking only of themselves.
English

@DTR_Vector Seeing the reddit. Yeah they still think that way.
And as mentioned, they are deepthroating Bandai.
English

@DTR_Vector Here comes the big corpo dick gobblers to defend
English

@DTR_Vector It's Daima's fault for being in the anniversary man. I'm telling you, 10 years without Daima and we're fine, suddenly Daima shows up and everything is messed up.
English

@DTR_Vector There is no fault really, you worked for someone that used you. How you feel about it doesnt matter in the japanese business world
