If you have never been to Normandy or any of the D-Day beaches, I encourage you all to go in a tour. You will learn so much and see so much history.

@DannyDeraney Walking the sands of the Normandy invasion beaches was one of the most sacred experiences of my life.

@DannyDeraney One of the things that really struck me about the place is how up and down the coast the fields are flat or kind of rolling like normal everyday fields. And then you see the field of craters, and it's just amazing how much violence took place on that small piece of land.

@DannyDeraney Used to work in the North of France.. passing a lot of memorials on my road from home in Flanders back then to the job (driving through those 'Flanders fields where poppies grow') passing Ypres, Zillebeke, Wormhout, etc... Dunkerque close by also... may we never forget..

@DannyDeraney My dad served in the Pacific, from Virginia and he had friends from Bedford, VA all killed on Dog Sector Omaha Beach! Remember the Bedford Boys!

@DannyDeraney I went all the time growing up because my dad has a place in Deauville so we spent our weekends & our Easter breaks there. I absolutely love the history there. I took my kids a long time ago. I need to take them again b/c my youngest was too young to appreciate it.

@DannyDeraney My Dad did the tour back in the 80s and met an old farmer who invited my Dad into his home for wine and lunch. The old farmer had lived there during the war and had a lot of stories to tell.

@DannyDeraney Could not agree more. It is very moving, and the French in that area have kept the surrounding areas much like the early '40's. There is so much to see there- the beaches, maps, the cemeteries, bunkers, Pont du Hoc. Another couple of good things- Ronald Reagan's speech at Pont

@DannyDeraney Was there April 2022, took 5 veteran's who refused to visit via a bus, found someone with an old fishing boat who brought them in by sea. I think half the town was there to watch. And then a huge lunch across from that museum Incredible people
