The stateless nature of x402 using stablecoins is a huge leap for M2M micro-transactions. However, the real challenge will be dispute resolution and rate-limiting. Without traditional accounts or sessions, handling failed API calls or refund logic in a single HTTP round-trip could expose endpoints to malicious draining if the verification layer isn't bulletproof. The fallback mechanisms need to be extremely robust.
