Sons of Sparta does a lot of good PR for Kratos’ early Greek life, but the fun character work comes in between the mediocre 20 hour game you have to play.

@IGN Mediocre is such a strong word, have you guys actually played a mediocre game? Because this isn’t really it. Groundbreaking? Not really but it does the job and is fun enough for what they went for.
@IGN I haven’t played this, but upon reveal it looked so generic, I didn’t understand the hype behind it and I love GoW and Metroidvania but have zero want to play this….
💯 Nobody ever talks about this game. But it’s the best 2D game I ever played. Way better than SoS. A Viking man who went hunting for food for his family, and gets attacked by creatures.
Brutal combat. Feels like a more grounded God of War game. And the Creatures have their own families, you don’t have to fight everyone if you approach them carefully.
PS4,Switch, PC, Xbox.
@IGN Making a metroidvania when we have Silksong is kinda crazy. So many good games in that genre now so why bother with a mediocre one
Meanwhile, that genre of character action or whatever you want to call it, is pretty much dead and begging for new releases
@IGN Pretty bummed about this, metriodvanias (especially roguelikes) are my absolute favorite games. I wish Sony greenlit more of these with their IP like they did here. Sucks that it seems like this game missed the mark. That being said, im still gonna pick it up on digital :(
@IGN How come gamers have rated it 4,5/5 in the store?
I would say it more of a 8 or 8,5 with my very limited gameplay!
I like smaller games that also are not super expensive. It sure give a different vibe and experience but a 6 is silly or rather childish.
I’m surprised us guys didn’t say…
“WAIT….KRATOS IS BALCK RIGHT? No left….KRATOS is left balck but white…the voices of KRATOS have always been left but KRATOS is really right…..so what does it mean that KRATOS IS REALLY A LEFT RIGHT? Follow us for more answers to these questions at IGNNYDOTCOM”
@IGN Sony PlayStation cannot sell a 1st party game that looks like a mobile game. Their fanbase won't accept it. It's either big blockbuster or don't show up at all. They are a superficial and casual consumer. This game would get no attention if it wasn't for the name "God of War."
